Groups, Windows and Sessions

Choose how much of your browser you want to save.

A guide to both plans

Three Things, One Hierarchy

A Group is a named set of Tabs in Chrome. A Window can contain several Groups and ungrouped Tabs. A Session saves one or more Windows together.

Active view with two Windows and their Groups — Active shows the live hierarchy: Window, then Group, then Tabs.

Friday Session expanded into Windows, Groups and saved Tabs — Expand a Session to see its Windows, Groups and individual Tabs.

Save a Group or a Session?

Save a Group when you want one collection, such as a reading list. Save a Session when the arrangement across Windows matters, such as research in one Window and project planning in another.

Save This Window dialog with a name and Save button — Use a Window capture when one Window is the unit you need.

A Window inside a Session is not an extra paid slot. The free Group-backup allowance applies to ordinary Group backups, not the Windows inside your free Session preview.
