What We Don't Collect
TabGroup Vault does NOT collect:

How We Store Your Data
Local Storage
- All your tab group snapshots are stored locally in your Chrome browser
- Data is compressed using LZ-string for efficient storage
- Chrome sync storage is used to sync your snapshots across your devices (optional)
- Local storage is used as a fallback when sync storage limits are reached
Cloud Storage (Pro Features)
- Pro users may optionally sync data through our secure API at api.tabgroupvault.com
- Cloud data is encrypted and used only for backup and cross-device synchronization
- You can opt out of cloud features at any time
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used exclusively for the following purposes:
- Save and Restore: Creating snapshots of your tab groups and restoring them later
- Export: Generating downloadable files (JSON, CSV, Markdown) of your tab groups
- Synchronization: Syncing your saved snapshots across your Chrome browsers
- Organization: Managing and organizing your saved tab group snapshots
Data Sharing and Third Parties
We do not sell, transfer, or share your data with third parties.
The only data transmission occurs:
- Between your browsers via Chrome's built-in sync storage
- To our secure API servers (only for Pro users who opt-in)
- When you manually export data as files to your device
Your Data Rights
Access and Control
- View all your saved snapshots through the extension popup or options page
- Rename or delete individual snapshots at any time
- Export your data to files for backup or migration
Data Deletion
- Individual Snapshots: Delete through the extension interface
- All Data: Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data
- Cloud Data: Contact us to delete Pro account data
